Review: Finding Perfection

Finding Perfection Finding Perfection by Cassandra Giovanni
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a story of lost love, new love, forgiveness, and finding who they are again. Some people think that once a heart is broken it will never be able to be put back together the same way. It's not meant to be put back the same, it is meant to grow and be flawed, this is how we live, learn, and love. River, West, Adam, and Tara learn this the hard way throughout this series. They learned to move forward and to accept the past, not the easy way either. I love how Cassandra brings out emotion and true feelings with these characters, true to life.

Destiny Destiny by A.D. Starrling
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Past comes to haunt, new and old enemies appear, and lives are at stake. The Crovir and Bastian families unit to conquer the demons of the past and make wrongs right. Not too many authors carry a series over to the children but AD Starrling doesn't leave you hanging with this final book in the series.

Review: Ethereal King

Ethereal King Ethereal King by Ariana Hawkes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

How would you react if out of no where something grabbed you and flew you up into the sky albeit rescuing you from certain disaster but still? Personally, it would scare the bejeezus our of me as it does Josie. Xephyr is a prince and feels he should be treated as such. The 2 clash with Josie not taking Xephyr's demands lightly. His clan isn't thrilled with their princes choices, either. I love how this story ties in with Ariana's Shiftr series but isn't part of it at the same time.

Frankie Hope Valley BBW Dating App Romance, #13) Frankie Hope Valley BBW Dating App Romance, #13) by Ariana Hawkes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Frankie being the newest member in the clan, is getting his well deserved story. He has been through heck and back and it seems with no end in sight at times. Then he meets Selma and things change but he is refusing to listen to his bear. Fake dating, secret photos, isn't Frankie's thing as he doesn't like lying or secrets. Selma is just trying to keep everyone happy and keep up her charade, but everything is starting to fall in around her. These 2 make one heck of a pair if only one of them would open their eyes to see it.

Also learning more about what she is slowly. I love watching characters grow throughout a series and Linsey definitely doesn't disappoint.

Review: Tempted by Darkness

Tempted by Darkness Tempted by Darkness by Valerie Twombly
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

Out of all the angels in this series so far, Tegan is the one that won my heart. He isn't searching for a mate he just wants to be left alone to fight demons and keep everyone safe. Then Rhea comes along and everything changes along with secrets being revealed and deceit. I love when an author gives a character a second chance at love and Valerie did just that with this book.

Before she’d settled down, L.J. (who thinks referring to herself in the third person is really silly, by the way) traveled the world, and collected friends from all across the globe. Friends who’d be happy to report that she is a rubbish companion, always forgets peoples’ birthdays and never sends Christmas cards. Adriana Locke:

A contemporary romance author running on coffee and sticky kisses from my rowdy four little boys. From Indiana, I’m a true Mid-Westerner. Life, for me, is about family, faith, and food. When I’m not running my kiddos around or having a lunch date of fajitas with my husband (and high school sweetheart), you can find me outside. I love a good sunny day almost as much as I love candy, random quotes, and steamy bad boys in fantastic books. I’m on nearly every social media platform. Please find me on the ones you frequent – I love chatting with readers.

Mandi Beck:

Mandi Beck has been an avid reader all of her life. A deep love for books always had her jotting down little stories on napkins, notebooks, and her hand. As an adult she was further submerged into the book world through book clubs and the epicness of social media. It was then that she graduated to writing her stories on her phone and then finally on a proper computer. A nursing student, mother to two rambunctious and somewhat rotten boys, and stepmom to two great girls away at college, she shares her time with her husband in Chicago where she was born and raised. Mandi is a diehard hockey fan and blames the Blackhawks when her deadlines are not met.

Emma Scott:

I write romances with flawed characters, characters with artistic hearts: builders, poets, and writers of various makes and models. I love to write book lovers; those who have found refuge, companionship, and escape in books, much as we do in real life. I like realism, honesty, authenticity in storytelling. I love to write about enduring love, soul-deep love, in as real a setting as I can make, but with big smooshy HEAs. I believe in diversity, open-mindedness, and inclusion. I like sweetness mixed with steam, love conquering all, and above all, hope. Love always wins.

Charleigh Rose:

We are a duo of an international best-selling author and a blogger who teamed up to write the taboo, thought-provoking stories we want our audience to have--without filters. Both Charleigh and Rose are committed to giving you witty, sexy, intelligent novels that will leave you wanting more.

Ella Fox:

When she’s not writing, Ella indulges the gypsy in her blood and travels the country. Ella loves reading, movies, music, buying make-up, reading Tmz, Twitter and pedicures… not necessarily in that order. She has a wild sense of humor and loves to laugh. Her favorite thing in the world is hanging out with her family and watching comedy movies.

Sara Ney:

Sara Ney is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the How to Date a Douchebag series, and is best known for her sexy, laugh-out-loud New Adult romances. She lives colorfully, collects vintage books, art, loves flea markets, and fancies herself British.

Meghan Quinn:

A BLONDE AT HEART Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped. Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking. Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Kate Stewart:

Kate Stewart lives in Charleston, S.C. with her husband, Nick, and her naughty beagle, Sadie. A native of Dallas, Kate moved to Charleston three weeks after her first visit, dropping her career of 8 years, and declaring it her creative muse. Kate pens messy, sexy, angst-filled contemporary romance as well as romantic comedy and erotic suspense because it's what she loves as a reader. A lover of all things '80s and '90s, especially John Hughes films and rap, she dabbles a little in photography, can knit a simple stitch scarf for necessity only and does a horrible job of playing the ukulele. Aside from running a mile without collapsing, traveling is the only other must on her bucket list. On occasion, she does very well at vodka.

She loves stories with alpha males, sassy heroines, hot sex and happily ever afters. She is a bit of a genre hopper in both her reading and her writing. So far she's written books in several romance sub-genres including new adult, contemporary, paranormal and romantic suspense. She is the mother of two wonderful sons who inspired her to chase her dream of being an author. She wants them to learn from her that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.

Review: Jezebel's Wish

Jezebel's Wish Jezebel's Wish by A.J. Nuest
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story holds a lot of heartache and meaning for me. I know how Jezzy felt and learning to forgive is not an easy thing especially when it's you, you need to forgive. The other thing is the miracle of what an animal can do to start the process of healing. AJ Nuest pulls so much emotion from a person from this story, it's amazing.

“Most men don’t like overweight women, Matthew.”

He snorted. “You’re not overweight. You’re fucking perfect.”
“I’m not. We both know I’m not, but thank you for saying it.”
“No,” he said, capturing my face in his hands and forcing me to look him in the eye. “Listen to me. I don’t give a fuck what anyone says; you’re perfect.”
He kissed the tip of my nose.
“Beautiful inside and out.”
He kissed my right cheek.
“Sexy as hell.”
He kissed my left cheek.
“And I’m so honored that you’re here with me right now because I’m no fool; I know you’re too good for me. What I’m doing with you is wrong, and I know that. You deserve so much better than me, but I can’t stay away from you.”
I kissed him, tasting all that he was. “Then don’t,” I whispered again his lips.
He kissed me hard, pulling a soft moan from the back of my throat. My body pressed into his, begging for him. Ready. So completely ready.
“You’re driving me crazy, Red.”
“No. You’re driving me crazy.”
He backed away, pulling me to a standing position. He reached for the hem of my dress and began lifting it.
“I know you hate them, but I only have one question.” His hand slid up the inside of my thigh before he dipped a finger in the top of my panty line and ran it across my lower stomach. “Will you let me lick all your curves?”
Biting my lip, I nodded.
He tugged my dress over my head, leaving me in nothing but my bra and panties. His eyes devoured my body as he smacked my hands away when I tried to cover myself. Slowly, he peeled my bra straps down and began undoing the back of my bra.
He leaned over, latching onto my nipple, and a wild moan escaped my lips. I had never felt anything so potent. Every time he sucked on my nipple, a tugging sensation pulled at my clit as if he was sucking there, as well.
While he worked my breasts, his fingers slipped into my panties, pushing them down my ass and over my thighs until they were loose enough to drop to my ankles. He tickled my hip, his fingers walking their way over my flesh until he was teasing my clit with the tip of his finger.
“Oh, my God. Matthew,” I breathed his name.
He captured my cheeks in his other hand, pinching slightly to get me to look him in the eye.
“I’m going to stick my fingers in first. I want to touch you inside.” He breathed. “This is your warning. Don’t freak out on me, okay?”
I nodded, ready to feel some form of penetration. My inner walls were clenching, pushing my juices out with the want to be filled.
His fingers moved down from my clit, sliding over my soaked folds until his middle finger was circling my opening. I thrust, not being able to wait any longer, and he chuckled, the deep vibrations of his laughter sending a wave of longing through me.
“Slow down, baby, I’m going to ease that ache soon enough.”
I melted. The way he was talking to me and touching me was driving me toward an orgasm.
His fingers swiped around my center once again, and I whined, needing to feel him before I burst. I was seconds away from begging when he pressed two fingers into me, bending his fingers deep.
I sighed in relief.
My knees went weak, and I leaned onto the countertop, hoping it would keep me from falling.
“Is this okay?” he asked, his blazing blue eyes lingering on my face.
“Yes. Please, Matthew,” I begged, needing more of everything he was giving me.
He pulled his fingers out a bit, my body naturally trying to suck them back in. Then he thrust once more, pulling them out and pushing them back in, in a rhythm that had my toes curling into the wood flooring beneath my feet. His thumb glided over my clit sending a jolt of sensation through me until I began to shiver.
“I love seeing you like this,” he breathed. “Look at you. You like having my fingers inside you, don’t you, Red?”
I nodded, wishing I could speak over the heavy breaths that pushed from my body.
“Say it, Shannon. Tell me you like it.”
He fucked me with his fingers faster, pushing me toward the brink and holding me over the edge.
“I-I-I do,” I stuttered. “I like it so much.”

Irish War Cry Irish War Cry by Victoria Danann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I couldn't imagine waking up one day to realize I wasn't human. I also couldn't imagine being without my mate. I am finding Sher to be more the level-headed, think things through after a bit of coaxing twin and Shy to be the more spontaneous, hot-headed, take a chance twin. This series is getting more and more wild with every turn of the page and I am loving every second of it.

Who do you trust and who do you run from? That is really the question here. Jin finds herself in just this exact situation with Adan and his friends. Life isn't easy for any of them and to have to run for their lives doesn't make it any easier. I really like how this story brings to light what our environment could possibly become in the future. Then the graphing of human and animal is a very interesting combination.

Cade is fierce but lovable and very protective. Abagail learns a very serious lesson of looks and other peoples words can be deceiving. Cade and Abagail are most definitely made for each other, they compliment each other. As with all of these books this series, there is always a twist but the one in this book was most unexpected.

Review: Frost-Bitten

Frost-Bitten Frost-Bitten by Lori King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I've read by Lori King and I can say I am now hooked. Love a story with a banged up beginning and ending with an unexpected family and unconditional love. Call it fate, luck, or just plain coincidence I truly believe everything happens for a reason and Quinn and Aubrey are the perfect example. I fell in love with the Jameson clan even with the brief introduction to them especially Mama Bear Ruth, she is so full of spunk. I love how Lori King pulls you into her world and has you falling in love within a matter of moments.

Dr. Quinn Jameson has secured his future by immersing himself in his career, but no amount of money in the world can ease his loneliness. Polar bear shifters aren’t pack creatures, but his soul craves more out of life. When a feisty, female tiger shifter begs him for help, he’s unable to resist and finds himself embroiled in a dangerous situation.
Aubrey Celine is in a bad spot. Pregnant and on the run, she’s out of options until she wakes up in the hospital under the care of a delicious-looking Doctor. Can she trust another man after what her ex has put her through? Or has her heart frozen solid?
In the midst of an epic blizzard, these two strangers must rely on each other to stay alive, but every time they’re alone, the heat between them could melt the ice caps. How far will they go to avoid getting frostbite?

“All set. Your friend is currently searching the neighborhood for his runaway fiancĂ©e; he believes you went AWOL, against medical advice,” he explained as he started the ignition. “Stay down a little longer if you don’t want to be spotted.”
Aubrey did as she was told, hunching down on the buttery-soft bench seat with only the car’s luxurious interior and one delicious-smelling man to look at. Trapped in this enclosed space with Dr. Jameson, she became keenly aware of her body’s attraction to him. Damn hormones.
“It’s normal,” he murmured.
“I’m sorry?”
“The arousal. It’s normal during pregnancy. Your hormones are a bit chaotic.” He glanced over at her, and Aubrey felt her face heat up. “I just didn’t want you to be embarrassed about it.”
“Well, you majorly failed at that, Doc,” she grumbled.
“My name is Quinn. Considering I just helped you escape a dastardly villain, I think we should be on first name terms.” Several more minutes passed before he spoke again.
“We just crossed the river, so you should be okay to sit up now,” he instructed, turning the car off the main road.
“Where are we going?” Aubrey struggled to get her bearings in an unfamiliar part of the city.
“My house.” He looked her way again and shifted the gears flawlessly. “Unless you have another destination in mind?”
“I didn’t have any destination in mind. I just had to get out. Honestly, I didn’t even pause to consider the risk of leaving when I saw my opening. I just ran,” her voice cracked, and she swallowed the lump in her throat. She had no idea where the out of character streak of fearlessness had come from. Alex had been threatening her the entire time he’d held her captive, and until the moment she’d noticed the lock wasn’t secured, she’d never even seriously considered making an escape attempt.
“I know who you’re running from, but what I don’t understand is why? What did this guy, Alex, do to you?”
“He kidnapped me.”
